Your school also has its own privacy policy that covers how they collect and share information with services like Kindo. Check your school's website or enrolment information for those details.
The information we hold depends on how you use Kindo, but generally includes:
- Your name, email address and phone number, as provided when you signed up
- Your student's name, room number and student ID, as provided by your school
- Order and payment history
- Technical information such as IP address, used for security purposes
- All information is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Access to personal data is restricted to staff who need it to do their job
- Our systems are continuously monitored for unusual activity
- Data is backed up daily and can be restored if something goes wrong
- Kindo has been independently certified by Safer Technology 4 Schools (ST4S)
Kindo isn't an advertising platform. We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers. We use it to help your school run services like payments, lunch ordering and activities. From time to time we may let you know about services your school offers through Kindo.
Kindo uses AI to help you navigate the service and answer common questions. AI is never used to make decisions about you, your student, your payments or your account. Your data is not used to train AI tools.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask for corrections. For information about your student, your school is usually the best first point of contact. For anything else, contact our Privacy Officer at
