Privacy and Your Information when performing a Cloudcheck Identity Verification


We take your privacy seriously and want to ensure you understand how your personal information is handled when completing a Cloudcheck identity verification.  Below, we outline key details regarding this process:


How we use Cloudcheck


Cloudcheck is used to verify your identity by checking the details you provide against official records held by the government. This ensures that your documents are valid.  We only use this service for identity verification purposes and do not store your verification details after Cloudcheck has made a positive identification.  The Cloudcheck system purges your information 7 days after you have submitted it.


Why do we use an identity verification service

As a registered Financial Services Provider, we are obliged to perform identity verification checks in certain circumstances.  Please refer to this document for more information.   


Keeping your information private and safe

We are required to handle your personal information in compliance with New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.  This means we will only collect, use, and disclose your information where it is legally permitted and necessary for identity verification.


Your rights regarding the collection of your information

What happens if you decline to consent?

Providing your identification information for a Cloudcheck is voluntary. However, if you choose not to consent, we will not be able to proceed with your application or service request, as we are legally obliged under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.


How to make a privacy-related complaint

If you have concerns about how we have handled your information, you can contact us to have the matter investigated by writing to privacy@kindo.co.nz    

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your information not in accordance with the law, you can register a complaint with the privacy commissioner at https://privacy.org.nz
