How to place an order on Kindo

Ordering and Paying on Kindo

Notes
Kindo is rolling out a new look. The steps below are for the new experience. Still on the classic view? See the classic steps

Whether you are ordering lunch, paying a request from your school (something the school has asked you to pay for, like fees, a trip, or a donation), or buying something from the shop, everything is available to you from your home screen when you log in. Here is how to get started.

Log in to your Kindo account

  1. Open the Kindo app, or go to shop.kindo.co.nz in your browser.
  2. Log in with your email address and password.
You will land on your home screen. From here you can see your Kindo Wallet balance and any payment requests or forms that need your attention, along with quick links to Shops and Requests.

Info
The Requests section only appears if your school uses Kindo for payment requests and forms.

What would you like to do?

There are three things you might want to do. Pick the one that matches your situation:
  1. Order lunch for your child
  2. Pay a request from your school — something the school has asked you to pay for, like fees, a trip, or a donation. If you       have one waiting, it will show on your home screen.
  3. Buy something from the shop — optional items like uniform, stationery, or a fundraiser.
Each one is covered below. Whichever you choose, your items end up in the same cart, ready to pay.

Ordering lunch

Lunch is ordered through Shops. Depending on your school, this might be an Ezlunch provider or your school's own lunch service.
  1. Tap Shops.
  2. Find your school and choose its lunch provider. You can filter by school at the top to narrow the list.

  3. Pick your delivery dates. You can select a single day or several at once, and switch between calendar and list view to suit you. Then tap Continue.

  4. Browse the menu for your chosen date and tap Add to cart on an item you want. You can tap Change dates at any time to switch the day you are ordering for.
  5. If you have more than one child at the school, choose who the order is for. Make any extra choices for that item, then tap Add to cart to confirm. Repeat for any other items.
On the web, Shops is in the sidebar menu rather than the bottom bar.

Info
Cut-off times apply and vary by provider. Many close orders at 9am on the day, and some earlier, such as the day before.

Payment requests from your school

Payment requests and forms from your school appear on your home screen when they need your attention. The Requests page gathers them all in one place, across every child and school on your account.
  1. Tap the card on your home screen to open Requests. You can also open Requests from the menu.

  2. Open the Payment Requests tab. Forms from your school are in the Forms tab, see Completing a form for those.

  3. Find the item you want to pay. Each one shows:

  4. the student it is for
  5. what it is for
  6. the amount outstanding, and the amount left to pay if you have already part-paid
  7. whether it is compulsory or voluntary
Tap See more to see the full details

     4. Choose how much to pay:
  1. To pay the full amount, tap Add to cart.
  2. To pay part of it, tap Partial pay, choose Custom amount, enter what you would like to pay, then tap Add to cart.
     5. Repeat for any other items you want to pay. Everything you add is collected in your cart, ready to pay together.

On the web, Requests is in the sidebar menu.

Buying something from the shop

Uniform, stationery, fundraisers, and other items are bought through Shops.
  1. Tap Shops.
  2. Find your school. You can filter by school at the top to narrow the list.
  3. Choose the shop you want, such as Uniform or Sports.

  4. Open the shop and tap the + on the item you want.

  5. If you have more than one child at the school, choose who it is for. Then answer any questions or make any choices, tapping Continue to move through them.
  6. Tap Add to cart. Repeat for any other items.
You can also open a school's shops directly from the Schools section on your home screen. This shows just that school's shops, along with its own notices.

On the web, Shops is in the sidebar menu.

Your cart and checkout

Whether you have added a lunch order, a payment request, or a shop item, everything is collected in your cart, and the final steps are the same.
  1. Open your cart from the top of the screen. Check the items, adjust quantities, or tap Remove to take anything out.

  2. Tap Continue to Checkout.
  3. Choose how you would like to pay. Some payment methods have a fee, which is shown next to each option. If your Kindo Wallet does not have enough, you can top up as part of checkout.

  4. Tap Continue to Payment and follow the prompts to finish.
Info
If you are paying by bank transfer, it can take up to 2 working days to clear, so allow time.

Ordering and paying on Kindo (classic view)

Purchasing and paying for many different school items has never been simpler with Kindo. Items can be ordered for specific dates, whilst other items can be simply purchased any time. It is easy, convenient and open 24/7 so you can order in advance. You will see personalised payments of items for your account. Whatever the item, the process is essentially the same.

Login to your Kindo account - go through your school/club link or direct to shop.kindo.co.nz to login.

Personalised payables are displayed on your home page with an alert highlighting any outstanding payments.

You can make a part-payment by clicking in the white box and typing the preferred amount. How much you have paid to date will be shown for you to keep track of your payments. Or you can pay for the item in full. Once selected, simply add to cart.

Optional items are also available to purchase such as Ezlunch or fundraising events or uniform.

With Ezlunch, just select the supplier you wish to purchase from. Please note some suppliers only supply on certain days. Cut off for orders is 9am on the day of the order but some suppliers may have an earlier cut off (such as the day before).

Order for one day or order the same item for multiple days. The calendar can be viewed as a list or as a calendar.

Click the dates required and click continue.

You can filter the food available using filters according to price or dietary requirements or availability, just select and click apply.

Once you have made your selection, if you have more than one child at that school, you will be asked to select child whom the order is for and make any additional choices such as soy sauce, or sandwich fillings etc.

Once all your selections are made, add to cart.

Your school may also have other optional items available.

Select your optional item. Add to cart and make your size or amount selection and if you have more than one child at the school, whom it is for or where the item will be delivered to.

Go to the cart and click Checkout.

You will get the option at Checkout to spread a little kindness and support others in need, by adding an additional item(s) to your order.

You can now review your cart and remove any unwanted items and complete your order.

If you have sufficient funds in your account, you can click complete order to complete the purchases.

If you have insufficient funds you can Top up your account by a range of payment methods. You can also do this prior to going to check out using myKindo wallet.

Once payment is completed, your order can be placed. Please allow 2 days for any online bank transfers.
You will receive an electronic receipt for any top-up and/or purchases you make.
You can also view your orders at any time from the 'my orders' tab.
