If you have received a refund from your school, or registered charity, into your myKindo account, within the last 24 months, you may withdraw the amount of that refund. You can withdraw the full amount of the refund in one transaction, or you can withdraw smaller amounts over the 24 month time period. You cannot withdraw more than the total of the refund, even if you have available funds in your myKindo account.
1. Login to your myKindo account.
2. Select mykindo wallet option.
3. Select the
collect refunds option next to your available balance.
4. A message will appear telling you which email address we are using to send through a link to complete your withdrawal request. NOTE: This link will expire within 24 hours.
5. Check your email and click on the link within the message.
6. The link will open up a Kindo withdrawal page.
For your security all withdrawals must be completed via the link sent to your email address. This keeps you informed that a withdrawal has been initiated, and means that anyone accessing your myKindo account, would also need access to your email to withdraw funds. (Please note that all Kindo pages are also https encrypted for security reasons).
Complete the amount you wish to withdraw and the bank account number you would like the funds deposited into. This is a 0.70 cents withdrawal fee which will apply.
7. Then select Withdraw.
8. A message will appear confirming your withdrawal amount and the bank account number, along with a message to remind you to allow two working days for the funds to be transferred.
9. Select Got It to complete the process.
Closing accounts with credit balances
If you are closing your account, and you have a credit balance, you have the option to spend the balance before you close your account, or you can donate the credit balance.
Donation options will be provided within the myKindo Close account feature.
If you have topped up more funds than you can use before closing your
account, withdrawals of the balance is possible. However, as a
Financial Services Provider we have obligations under the Anti-Money
Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML). The
withdrawal of customer credit balances (that were not refunds) falls
outside of the Kindo exemption and will require a
due diligence process. If you would like further information on AML and the implications you can view our article
AML and Kindo.
If you are moving from one school to another school that uses
myKindo, then you do not need to withdraw or close your account, as you
can continue to use your existing account and funds at the new school.
